Hannah Gadsby is returning to Netflix with a second stand-up comedy special “Douglas.”

Douglas,” the title comes from Gadsby’s pet dog, will include material from becoming a breakout star after the success of her first special “Nanette.” Gadsby is currently on tour in support of the special.

AP 2018 Breakthrough: Hannah Gadsby may change stand-up game

LOS ANGELES (AP) | Hannah Gadsby says she knows it’s meant as a compliment to be chosen as one of the year’s Breakthrough Entertainers by The Associated Press. But, as with many things, the Australian stand-up comic and actress sees the honor from a variety of perspectives.

“Like, what happens after ‘breakthrough’?” Gadsby asked. “Like, I could be a one-hit wonder or I go on to being a deserved star?” She notes: “I think I was doing really well before all this craziness around ‘Nanette.'”

Nick Cannon sees irony in the way Oscars handled Kevin Hart

NEW YORK (AP) | Nick Cannon isn’t just defending his friend and fellow comedian Kevin Hart over the Oscars hosting controversy. He’s also going after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences itself.

Cannon was one of many cheering the decision to appoint Hart as host of the Feb. 24 telecast but then with dismay watched as his friend voluntarily stepped down following an outcry over past homophobic tweets. Hart contended he’d already addressed those tweets and they no longer represented his views.

“Transparent” creator Jill Soloway and Australian comedian Hannah Gadsby are dating, according to Page Six.

A source revealed to the outlet that things have gotten serious with the couple. Soloway recently visited Australia to meet Gadsby’s family. However, the source said “they don’t want people to know they are a couple,” and that “they are very private.”

Sexuality, gender and the role of comedy headline Australian comedian Hannah Gadsby’s comedy tour “Nanette,” now presented on Netflix.

Named after a girl Gadsby believed interesting, the hour-long comedy special is a departure from Gadsby’s normal comedy routines, including a “third” part to her story: an ending (Gadsby tells the audience that the difference between a story and a joke is that a story has a beginning, a middle and end, and a joke just has a beginning and middle).
