Lake Buena Vista, Fla. – The Zebra Coalition and the Orlando International Fringe Festival were both presented with a grant from Walt Disney World Resorts allowing them to continue to positively affect families and children in Orlando.

They gavea total of $4.5 million worth of grants to 102 organizations in Central Florida at a ceremony held at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts on March 30.

LGBT group gives grants to HBCUs to aid inclusion

The educational arm of an LGBT rights group is seeking to advance LGBT inclusion on the campuses of historically black colleges and universities.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation has teamed up with Promised Land Film to award $4,000 grants to four schools to allow them to use the documentary, “The New Black,” to promote lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender inclusion.

Boy Scouts lose funding over anti-gay policies

The UPS Foundation says it will no longer give grants to the Boy Scouts of America as long as the group excludes gays and lesbians from being scouts or scout leaders.

The philanthropic arm of the Atlanta-based shipping giant made the change Thursday after an online petition protesting the foundation’s annual grants to the Boy Scouts attracted more than 80,000 signatures. The UPS Foundation gave $150,000 to the Boy Scouts in 2010. It wasn’t clear how much they gave the group last year.
