Beyoncé and JAY-Z were honored with the Vanguard Award at the 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards on March 29 in Los Angeles. The Vanguard Award “is presented to media professionals who have made a significant difference in promoting equality and acceptance of LGBTQ people.”

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum Shangela gave a lip-sync performance to a medley of Beyoncé’s hits including “Bootylicious,” “Partition,” “Single Ladies” and “Flawless.” Beyoncé could be seen cheering in the crowd and gave Shangela a standing ovation.

Madonna to be honored at GLAAD Media Awards

NEW YORK (AP) | Madonna will be honored at the 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards for a lifetime of accelerating acceptance of the LGBTQ community.

The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer advocacy group announced Feb. 5 it will present Madonna with its advocate for change award. The 60-year-old singer is the second person and first woman to receive the award that honors a person who, through their work, changed the game for LGBTQ people.

Tambor accuser says she hopes `Transparent’ comes back

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — A transgender actress who accused “Transparent” star Jeffrey Tambor of sexual misconduct says she’s grateful for the support she’s received and hopes the show is able to continue without the Emmy-winning star.

Trace Lysette is one of two women who came forward last year and accused Tambor of sexual harassment. Tambor has denied the allegations.

Spears, who attended the ceremony with her boyfriend Sam Asghari, was recognized for promoting LGBTQ acceptance and equality. Jennifer Lopez, Cher, Antonio Banderas and Demi Lovato are among the award’s past recipients.

GLAAD Media Awards 2018 releases nominees

The 29th annual GLAAD Media Awards announced its 2018 nominees at the Sundance Film Festival on Friday via Trace Lysette (“Transparent”) and Wilson Cruz (“Star Trek: Discovery”).

Netflix raked in the most nominations for television with seven nominations. ABC, CBS and NBC came in at a close second with six nominations. This was also the first time the category Outstanding Kids & Family Programming was introduced which recognizes “Andi Mack,” and “Doc McStuffins,” among others, for their LGBT inclusion.
