***Go to the Top 8 here.***

The first round of Watermark’s “March Fabness” is complete as we go into spring in search of the Ultimate LGBTQ Anthem.

Some of the opening match-ups were nail biters (RuPaul and Queen were back and forth) and some were runaway trains that weren’t even close (Katy Perry and Beyonce didn’t stand a chance against legends Gloria Gaynor and Whitney Houston).

“These are the days of the open hand; they will not be the last.”

It was Christmas Day around 3 p.m. My husband Tony and I were moonage daydreaming to the sounds of David Bowie via a box set Who Can I Be Now that was his key present this year – that and some ridiculous kitchen appliance madness and a headlamp for his actual head – and we were in a great mood. I mean, the ashes to ashes had fermented into an amazement and appreciation nearly a year after Blackstar, nearly a year after Bowie’s death. Lazarus, indeed.

LONDON (AP) – George Michael’s moment of liberation followed what seemed at first to be a time of deep humiliation.

He kept his own sexual orientation private, until he was arrested in 1998 for lewd conduct in a public toilet in Los Angeles after being spotted by a male undercover police officer.

A review of the best and worst in 2012 pop culture and entertainment

If it weren’t for double meanings and the double entendre, pop culture and entertainment would have probably ceased to exist this year (no thanks to those pesky Mayans and their predictions). Showtime’s hit espionage drama “Homeland” featured a double-agent in Damien Lewis’ Nicholas Brody, a former prisoner-of-war who was “turned” by al-Qaeda and now threatens the United States; meanwhile Claire Danes’ Carrie Mathison is a CIA intelligence agent who suffers from bipolar disorder. NBC’s Thursday night comedy line-up (“30 Rock,” “Parks & Recreation” and “The Office”) is hysterically built around creative uses of the double entendre.

In that spirit we present our 2012 Pop Culture Year-In-Review, with all its double meanings.

4883_george-michael-monkeyEntertainment Weekly recently reported that George Michael is now back on the market. That means I finally have a chance! I've had a crush on him since I first saw him shaking his tight Levi'd booty back in the 80’s.

Yea, so what if he has a few indiscretions in public bathrooms and has had some substance abuse problems? I have â┚¬Å”Faithâ┚¬Â that I would be able to let that slide. Why? Because I'd be fu@#ing George Michael!
