Our annual fundraising gala to benefit LGBT Programing at Metro, including our LGBTQ Youth, SAGE Metro Tampa Bay Elder Programming and various Trans Programs offered in both St. Pete and Tampa on a weekly/ and or Biweekly basis. The funds raised through our gala allow us to continue to expand, adapt and add to our existing programming based on the needs and desires of the community here in Tampa Bay.

“Homecoming Gala”, a nod of celebration of purchasing our St. Pete building location! Think classic 1950’s homecoming dance, poodle skirts, letter jackets, the movie “Grease” as inspiration. The homecoming dance you wished you had! Sure to be a fantastic and fun night! The event kicks off with a special Sponsor’s Reception at 5:30pm for our event sponsors, followed by our gala at 7pm, Music, dancing, delicious food, beverage, entertainment, silent auction, raffle a night jam packed with good times for a great cause!

We have seen a dramatic increase in program participation over the past 4 years and look forward to what the future holds in store as we continue our work with the support of the community!

United Nations (AP) – Scottish actor and activist Alan Cumming said he was pleased to be hosting the first LGBT gala ever held at the United Nations, but he also found it a bit silly that it’s taken so long.

“Well I think it’s sort of like a little chink in the armor of bigotry on a worldwide level because it is symbolic that this is happening in this institution and also kind of ridiculous at the same time that this is the first time anything like this has happened at the U.N.,” Cumming told The Associated Press.

By doing so, you will increase the chances for the Zebra Coalition to win a $25,000 gala thrown by the beautiful Bella Colina. The venue, popular in the wedding markets and seen in our 2015 LGBT Wedding Guide, looks like it was plucked right out of Tuscany and placed in the beautiful hills of Monteverde, FL – minutes outside from Downtown Orlando. On February 17, The Bella Collina met with the Zebra Coalition as they were in the running for the Win a Bella Gala. Visit the Zebra Coalition’s Facebook page and share and hashtag the post to increase their chances to win.

Betwixt the rain, the rush-hour traffic and a packed concert next door, the Orlando Sentinel held its first Central Floridian of the Year event on the evening of Jan. 28 at the Pegasus Ballroom within the University of Central Florida’s student union. Hosted by everybody’s favorite “aw, shucks” political columnist Scott Maxwell, and attended by all of the mucky-mucks and the editorial board members that have crossed them at one time or another (plus Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and his entourage … oh, and the amazing philanthropist Harriet Lake, who left the house for the first time in a long time despite her illness), the catered soiree was just about what you would expect it to be. We had the stuffed chicken.

What we didn’t expect, however, was the presence of LGBT tech entrepreneur Carlos Carbonell, who was shortlisted as one of the finalists for the prestigious Sentinel award. We’ve known other winners and nominees in the past, and you’re not allowed to talk about it. What happens in the paper’s mahogany boardroom STAYS in said boardroom.
