G St Pete announces imminent closure

ST. PETERSBURG | G St Pete shared Aug. 19 that they will close Aug. 24, just three weeks after celebrating their one-year anniversary.

“We are sad to announce that this coming weekend at G. St. Pete will be our final weekend,” they advised via social media. “We love St. Pete but just couldn’t make it work in our location.”

PHOTOS: Watermark’s Swipe Right Party Tampa Bay 2019

ST. PETERSBURG | Watermark celebrated love and the release of our second annual Most Eligible Singles issue with our latest Tampa Bay Swipe Right Party held at G St Pete Feb. 7.

The LGBTQ singles mixer featured several of Tampa Bay’s most eligible singles with light bites provided by Iberian Rooster. Attendees were given bracelets representing if they were looking or taken, with blue indicating they were looking for individuals who identify as male, purple for individuals who identify as female and yellow for individuals who identify as non-binary. Orange represented those who were taken and celebrants were free to wear as many as they felt appropriately expressed themselves. Check out some of our photos below.

G St Pete announces grand opening in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG | The Florida Entertainment Group has announced that G St Pete will open its doors in downtown St. Petersburg Aug. 4.

“We’ve wanted to be a part of the St. Pete community for a long time and the opportunity finally presented itself with the right venue and location,” co-owner Ernie Webb tells Watermark. “We’re really excited to be a part of the community there.”

Tampa Bay’s social media sphere was all abuzz July 3 with a cryptic tease of “G St. Pete,” a new bar heading to St. Petersburg.

If the name sounds familiar, it’s reminiscent of Ybor’s G. Bar, which closed and reopened as Southern Nights Tampa just over three years ago. Several of the Ybor bar scene’s mainstays have also shared the tease personally, prompting further speculation about the similarities to the now-defunct Ybor hotspot.
