‘The Fosters’ ending after five seasons, spin-off planned

Freeform is ending “The Fosters” after a five-season run, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The family drama will wrap up with a three-episode limited series airing in the summer. “The Fosters” also celebrates its 100th episode during the 10-episode, second half of its fifth season.

GLAAD TV report shows LGBT characters more likely to be white, gay males

LGBT characters on TV are becoming closer to the norm but odds are they are white, according to the latest study released from GLAAD.

GLAAD’s “Where We Are on TV” diversity report shows that TV has made advances in LGBT inclusion with more LGBT characters appearing on shows than ever before.

At the 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards, Lena Waithe became the first black woman to win the award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series.

The Emmy was awarded for an episode of Netflix’s show Master of None. She co-wrote the season two episode titled “Thanksgiving” with show co-creator Aziz Ansari, which chronicled her experience coming out as a lesbian to her family.
