Downtown Orlando got into the Gay Days fun at Venue 578 (formerly Firestone Live) when the Brett Henrichsen’s global party series, WE Party Frat House, came to town June 6.

The fraternity-themed bash had hot bodies and cold drinks everywhere as they danced to musicality of DJ Danny Verde.

Equality Florida 2014 Greater Orlando Gala

Equality Florida’s 2014 Greater Orlando Gala raised more than $200,000 for the organization on Nov. 14. The event, held at The Mezz in downtown Orlando, boasted a sold-out crowd – nearly 400 guests.

EQFL honored their 2014 Voice for Equality honorees Dr. Kathryn Norsworthy, Ted Maines and Jeff Miller.

Project DTO’s Midday Mingle

Project DTO hosted Midday Mingle at the Wall Street Plaza June 25, allowing residents who live, work or play in Downtown Orlando to be a part of the planning process of expanding the area.

Nine interactive stations lined Wall Street, each station represented an area the Executive Advisory Committee, Task Force and City Staff hope to focus on in order to create a “community-guided vision and strategic plan for Downtown Orlando,” as their website says, to help redevelop the area, bring a brand platform and marketing strategy for Downtown and building upon the community’s needs and interests for the future.

Orlando– Mad Cow Theatre is known for bringing some of the most compelling works of theater to the heart of Downtown Orlando. Its newest production will follow as nothing short of that, introducing theater-goers to a contemporary love triangle that’s far from being a “cock-and-bull story.”

Shipped from British playwright Mike Bartlett and now making its rounds in the U.S., Cock opens June 20 and runs through July 20 at The Zehngebot-Stonerock Theatre. The play follows the story of John, who takes a break from a troubled relationship with his boyfriend of many years. During this break, he meets a woman who intrigues his interest in many ways. The play follows John’s journey as he explores the complexity of relationships, love and sexuality.

Seduction Saturdays at Brink

Located in the heart of Downtown Orlando, The Brink held its Seductive Saturdays this weekend and welcomed in a good crowd from Gay Days and local LGBTs.

Packed with mostly a younger crowd, the music was very diverse, playing everything from techno to hip-hop to dance hits. There was a show at 12 a.m. from the Les Vixens, which featured Blue Starr, Maya Andrews and Sasha Colby.

2014 AIDS Walk raises nearly $150,000

Orlando – Nearly 1,500 people raised $143,000 at the 2014 Orlando AIDS Walk, benefiting Hope and Help of Central Florida, Inc.

The walkers, wearing colorful T-shirts, braved the gloomy, drizzly weather March 29 to gather around the Walt Disney Amphitheater at Lake Eola Park to watch openly gay Orlando City Commissioner Patty Sheehan welcome attendees to the event.
