Kathy Griffin has been fired from CNN for participating in a photo shoot which showed her holding up a fake, decapitated and bloody Donald Trump head. The photos have caused criticism from both the left and right.

In a behind-the-scenes video, Griffin is shown posing with the severed head for photographer Tyler Shields. She jokes that she and Shields will have to run away to Mexico when the images go public and says, “I won’t give away what we’re doing but Tyler and I are not afraid to do images that make noise.”

Uprisings: Harder than he thought

By : Billy Manes

We’ve all been in over our heads before. All the vocational training you can crack two credit cards at will still never ensure that somebody at your new job is not going to roll their eyes at you, call you stupid behind your back and talk to management about your mistakes, even – if not especially – in your first 100 days. There’s acclimation to be had, names to be remembered, systems and files, the whole rhythm of the gossip train as it runs to the water cooler.

That, in part, is why most U.S. Presidents dip their toes in the water in the field – you start as an organizer, you become a state representative, you rise to a governorship or a U.S. Senate seat, you learn the ropes by actually walking across them.

The annual White House Easter Egg Roll — an event that has served to enhance LGBT visibility — is haphazardly coming together under President Trump, according to media reports, and will likely not include an LGBT presence.

Ashley Broadway-Mack, president of the LGBT group American Military Partner Association, said her organization has been invited to partake in the celebration since 2012, but has “had no communication with the Trump administration whatsoever about this year’s event.”

High Fidelity: Silent no more

MiguelFuller_MugOK. I’m going to be honest with you. I had a road map for what I was going to write about for this column. I literally finished the first draft. For the past two weeks I’ve been watching people rip into each other on social media about all sorts of issues: The election and President Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks: the battle for St. Pete Pride and where the parade will be held; and, of course, friends’ relationship drama. My heart was hurting for everyone.

I was going to write about having empathy for those around you. Listen. Understand. Try to put yourself in the other person’s shoes, then decide how you want to proceed. You know what? I’m done. Here’s why.

Get out of my kitchen: Basket cases are people, too

By : Poor Rich White Lady

poor rich white ladyFirst of all, I want to apologize for taking an extended break from writing with you. I had to take some time off after the excitement and hangovers of attending the Republican National Convention in, oh, I can’t remember where it was, but I do believe it was a good time.

It was amazing to stand in front of a room of likeminded patriots and watch the coronation of Donald J. Trump! You know who wasn’t there? Hillary Clinton. She wasn’t there. Why wasn’t she there? Because she hates American patriots. That has been made even more obvious by her recent statements calling half of Trump supporters a “basket a deplorables.” First of all, I have no idea what that means. Fortunately, I saw a commercial on television where they played the remainder of the clip. She said Trump patriots were racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobia, xenophobic, claustrophobic, dyslexic and hydrophobic. All of these horrible generalizations by Hillary Clinton are totally wrong.
