Deborah Cox to headline Metro Inclusive Health’s annual fundraiser

ST. PETERSBURG | Metro Inclusive Health announced Sept. 18 that recording artist and LGBTQ advocate Deborah Cox will headline the organization’s annual Cocktail Party scheduled for Nov. 9.

Metro utilizes the annual event to fundraise for its many essential health and community services offered throughout Tampa Bay. The organization served more than 27,000 individuals in 2018 and is on course to significantly increase that number this year.

Deborah Cox talks “The Bodyguard,” Whitney Houston and returning for St. Pete Pride

Grammy Award-nominated and multi-platinum R&B/pop recording artist Deborah Cox says she’s excited to be back in Tampa Bay for “The Bodyguard,” having performed in the area on other tours and for St. Pete Pride celebrations.

The show’s first U.S. national tour, based on the 1992 hit film of the same name starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, is a high-energy musical playing at the Straz Center until March 25. It follows the tale of Cox’s superstar Rachel Marron, whose bodyguard Frank Farmer (played by television’s Judson Mills) is hired to protect her from an intense stalker.

Girls Night Out: Deborah Cox leads all-female line-up for Pride’s SP2 concert

Cemented as an integral piece in the total St. Pete Pride package, the SP2 Concert kicks down the door to Pride weekend every year and raises the excitement decibels that carry the energy through the parade and festival.

The all-female line-up, which will take the stage June 24 at 26thand Central, will be headlined by legendary dance diva Deborah Cox, and she will be joined that night by St. Pete’s own soulful, powerhouse voice Jennifer Real and the rocking goddesses of Karmic Tattoo.
