Rhodes Perry to hold live ‘The Out Entrepreneur’ podcast in Orlando

One year after launching his LGBTQ business podcast “The Out Entrepreneur,” host Rhodes Perry is heading to Orlando for the show’s first-ever live recording at The Orange Studio Dec. 11.

The Out Entrepreneur is a weekly podcast in which Perry gets to “interview today’s most inspiring LGBTQ bosses crushing it in business,” as he says to start off each podcast.

MBA’s Pride in Business Awards Gala moves to November

ORLANDO | The Annual Metropolitan Business Association’s Pride in Business Awards Gala, originally scheduled for Oct. 7, will be moved to Nov. 4 from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m., with a sponsor reception beginning at 7:00 p.m., at the Rosen Shingle Creek.

“There were some limitations for the original date that would have prohibited us from putting on the kind of show that the MBA attendees have become accustomed to,” Gala Committee Co-Chair Deb Ofsowitz says. “On top of that, when Irma came though, it hindered some of the vendors.”

Come Out With Pride rises to the challenge of healing a community still in a haze of grief

“In the beginning, everybody was kind of in shock,” Come Out With Pride board secretary and auction chair Deb Ofsowitz says. “It was hard to even talk about it.”

Osfowitz, of course, is referring to the June 12 Pulse massacre that resonated throughout the world; those few minutes of artillery fire that led to the deaths of 49 people and the injuries of 53 more at Pulse Orlando after a Saturday night, before the dawn of Sunday. The board convened immediately, she says, everybody soon after scattering into various public relations poses as public people often do in the face of tragedy.
