World AIDS Day Luncheon

Community AIDS Network formally invites you to join us on Friday, December 1st from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Robert L. Taylor Community Complex in Sarasota.

Lunch will be provided along with music, dancing, awards, and raffles.

CAN is currently seeking nominations for the 2017 Distinguished Service Awards to be presented at the World AIDS Day luncheon. Nominees must work in Area 8 (Charlotte, Collier, Desoto, Glades, Hendry, Lee and/or Sarasota counties) and may be from the public or private sector.   Nominees may include physicians, nurses, clinical assistants, outreach workers, case managers, advocates, health educators, counselors, researchers, program managers/coordinators, pharmacists, public officials and other individuals active in the HIV/AIDS field.  Nominations will be accepted through November 10, 2017.

The Thursday, March 9, performance will be sign language interpreted.

The legacy of the beloved Mister Rogers lives on with the hit television series, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, from The Fred Rogers Company and airing daily on PBS KIDS. Now, Daniel and all of his friends are hopping aboard Trolley to delight live audiences with DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD LIVE! Donning his iconic red sweater, Daniel takes the audience on an interactive musical adventure as he and his friends explore the vibrant world of their much-loved Neighborhood of Make-Believe, sharing themes of friendship, helping others, and celebrating new experiences. This live theatrical production filled with singing, dancing, laughter and “grr-ific” surprises will warm the hearts of multiple generations.

Every guest entering the theater requires a ticket. While this is a child-friendly show, parents should use their own judgment when making entertainment choices for their children under two. Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Live! may be too long for younger audiences. Prices, shows, artists, dates, and times are subject to change at any time without notice.

Official Tampa Pride 2014 Launch Party

The Tampa Pride board officially kicked off its fundraising for the inaugural 2015 event at The Honey Pot on Sept. 26.

Despite downpours in Tampa Bay, nearly 200 people attended and learned the theme of Tampa Pride 2015 is “Proud. Determined. United.” It was also revealed that TampaPride.org would launch by Oct. 1.
