TORONTO (AP) | Dozens of protesters crowded a downtown Toronto sidewalk Friday to voice their opposition to the opening of the first franchised Chick-fil-A restaurant in Canada over the chain owner’s record on LGBTQ issues.

The protesters said the company has funded anti-LGBTQ initiatives while company chairman and CEO Dan Cathy has voiced his opposition to same-sex marriage.

Montana Republican invites Chick-fil-A after LGBTQ flap

HELENA, Mont. (AP) | A Republican candidate for Montana governor is looking to take a fast-food chicken restaurant chain under his wing after the owners’ anti-gay rights stance cost it new locations in Texas and New York state.

Attorney General Tim Fox sent a letter on April 22 inviting Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy to open more restaurants in Montana. Fox’s letter is in response to recent reports that San Antonio and Buffalo city leaders excluded the restaurant from opening locations in their airports because of its funding of anti-LGBTQ organizations.

McDonald’s appears to dig at Chick-fil-A with ‘We Welcome Everyone’ sign

A McDonald’s located in Glastonbury, Connecticut seemed to be making a statement to a nearby Chick-fil-A when it put up a “We Welcome Everyone” sign.

According to NBC Connecticut, a Chick-fil-A will open next door to the McDonald’s location today. The sign has been up for about three weeks and some people believe it was a message to the notoriously anti-LGBT franchise.

I mean, obviously I have some issues with their politics. But even before I knew that was a thing, I couldn’t figure out what the fuss was about. Chick-fil-A offers a mediocre chicken sandwich with waffle fries that are fine, but give me Beefy King tater tots any day.

Notorious pastor Fred Phelps Sr. died on March 18, sparking mixed reactions from LGBTs and the community at large. His Westboro Baptist Church and his so-called congregation made national news often with its protest of the funerals of AIDS patients, Matthew Shepard and fallen U.S. soldiers.

Phelps and his Topeka-based church had the same message at each appearance: The country was doomed because of its tolerance of homosexuality.
