British LGBTQ film event #FiveFilms4Freedom comes to The Abbey Orlando

The British Council and the British Film Institute have teamed up for the third year to bring the world’s first global digital short-film program, #FiveFilms4Freedom, to audiences, and they are bringing it to The Abbey in Orlando tonight, Nov. 9, starting at 6:00 p.m.

The program is a collection of both dramatic and documentary short films that tell the LGBTQ experience.

Gay college student recites spoken words from the heart

One gay college student shared his feelings about his first crush, while describing what it was like to come out 20 years later, in a unique way — through spoken word.

Steven Boyle, a poetry student,came out to his class, friends and complete strangers through a spoken word poem titled “I Hit Send, or Modern Meltdown.”
