Comedian Dave Chappelle, known for his controversial social commentary, is coming under fire for telling transphobic jokes in his recent stand-up show.

The 43-year-old D.C. native kicked off a 16-show run at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Jesse David Fox of Vulture wrote a report of the show and said Chappelle began his show with 20-minutes of transgender jokes.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Mission to the U.N. told the Washington Blade the meeting took place in Haley’s office in New York.

Janet Mock shared that she doesn’t consider Caitlyn Jenner the spokesperson for the transgender community while appearing on Chelsea Handler’s Netflix talk show, “Chelsea.”

Handler asked Mock if she felt the need to defend Jenner for her controversial joke that “liberals can’t shoot straight” in reference to James Hodgkinson shooting at a GOP baseball practice that left Rep. Steve Scalise hospitalized in critical condition.

Caitlyn Jenner’s catch up interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC’s “20/20” didn’t have the same success as her first 2015 interview.

According to Deadline, Jenner’s follow up only raked in 4.2 million viewers and came in at number three for the 10 p.m. timeslot. A rerun of “Blue Bloods” on CBS came in at number one with 6.5 million viewers. A two-hour “Dateline” on NBC was number two with five million viewers. “Dateline” was also more popular with the 18-to-49 demographic than Jenner’s interview.

Caitlyn Jenner has revealed she underwent gender reassignment surgery in January of this year in her new memoir, “The Secrets of My Life.”

According to Radar Online, Jenner, 67, writes that part of her decision to undergo surgery was due to probing questions from the public about her genitals. Jenner also says she was tired of tucking her penis in.

Philly’s Mummers offers new year a lively welcome with diversified parade

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – The city’s annual Mummers Parade quieted critics who raised concerns about racially or culturally insensitive displays in previous years, with marchers putting on a family friendly New Year’s Day show that still entertained spectators crowded along the mile-long route.

Philadelphia has hosted the Mummers Parade since 1901, making it the oldest continuous folk parade in the country, with string bands, comic brigades, elaborate floats and plenty of feathers and sequins. More than 10,000 marchers – divided into more than 40 clubs – work year-round creating elaborate costumes and props and practicing skits and music.

Caitlyn Jenner: Easier to come out as transgender than Republican

Cleveland (AP) — Prodding her party, Caitlyn Jenner said July 20 it was easier to come out as transgender than as a Republican and conceded Democrats promote more inclusive policies.

Jenner, the Olympic gold medalist and transgender activist, gently chastised Republicans as she spoke at a brunch on the sidelines of the Republican National Convention. She told the pro-LGBT American Unity Fund that she’s urged Republicans including Donald Trump to create a safe environment for children who are transgender.
