Trans athletes make great gains, yet resentment still flares

Across the U.S. and in many places abroad, transgender athletes are breaking barriers in high school, college and pro sports and being embraced by teammates and fans. But resentments can still flare when transgender women start winning and dominating their sport.

Exhibit A is a recent public exchange involving tennis great Martina Navratilova, who came out as a lesbian in 1981 and is a longtime gay-rights activist. She now stands accused of being “transphobic” after asserting that many transgender women — even if they’ve undergone hormone treatment — have an unfair advantage over other female competitors.

Milo Yiannopoulos attempted to make a “magnificent 2019 comeback,” funded by the public, but his efforts were shut down in one day.

The former Breitbart editor has faced challenges continuing to be relevant in the public eye after a string of scandals. Yiannopoulos was booted from Twitter for harassing comedian Leslie Jones and was forced to step down from his position at Breitbart after old comments which appeared to support pedophilia resurfaced. Things seemed to be turning around for Yiannopolous as he got married in Hawaii and got a job as a columnist for the Daily Caller. However, after one day the column was canceled because Yiannopolous made claims without evidence such as citing that straight people are more likely to be fired for their sexuality than LGBT people.

Milo Yiannopoulos heckled out of NYC bar

Milo Yiannopoulos has remained under the radar lately but the former Breitbart editor found himself in the spotlight when he wandered into a Manhattan bar filled with Democratic Socialists of America members on Saturday.

In a video posted on Twitter, Yiannopoulos can be seen on his phone while a crowd chants, “Nazi scum get out.” Eventually, Yiannopoulos gathers his things and leaves.

NEW YORK (AP) – Breitbart News editor Milo Yiannopoulos has resigned after coming under fire from other conservatives over comments on sexual relationships between boys and men.

Speaking to reporters in New York Feb. 21, the writer and provocative public speaker apologized for his remarks.
