It occurred to me that in order to get more gay people to the polling booth, whose votes matter immensely, perhaps we should create a whole “gay day” theme like we do at Disney World. If we can take over the land of enchantment, why shouldn’t we take over this important day too? Why not have some funs while we send the politicians in Washington packing for home?

The celebration would of course begin weeks in advance, so honey, you are already behind. You’d better drop everything and get started right now.

For those trying to find the most LGBTQ show at Orlando Fringe this year look no further because we found it. “Keep It Gay” does just as its title promises, from start to finish they have the gay dialed up to 11 and we couldn’t be more happy.

The show begins with Billy Mick and Gonzalo Mendaz asking the show’s director, Wade Hair, to take on their latest Fringe endeavor. At first Hair doesn’t seem interested in their small, dramatic Fringe show but changes his tune at the possibility on becoming a — <gasp> — Patron’s Pick winner! But doing a drama? Never! We have reached the final battle in our “March Fabness”search to find the Ultimate LGBTQ Anthem.

After 32 combatants, we are down to two. No more male vocals, no more harmonizing groups and no slow ditties either. We have two strong, female voices who are solo acts with anthems that make you want to hit the dance floor. The disco survivor vs. the mother monster. Gaynor vs. Gaga. “I Will Survive” vs. “Born This Way.”

The best things come in fours: The Beatles, the Gospels, the seasons, the number of letters in the best words; and now we have our “March Fabness” Final Four on our way to find out the Ultimate LGBTQ Anthem. The best of the best.

Our last round saw us lose the remaining male-sung anthems leaving our Final Four to be either female solo singers or all-female groups. Sorry George Michael, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis but the only men left in this competition are the ones raining down in The Weather Girls’ anthem, Hallelujah!
