‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ reveals season 10 trailer, guest judges

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” released the first trailer for its upcoming tenth season.

Christina Aguilera is revealed to be the guest judge for the premiere episode. Later in the season, Shania Twain, Lena Dunham, Abbi Jacobson & Ilana Glazer, Kumail Nanjiani & Emily V. Gordon, Billy Eichner, Kate Upton, Halsey, Padma Lakshmi, Courtney Love, Nico Tortorella, Audra McDonald, Ashanti, Logan Browning, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Carrie Preston, Andrew Rannells, Miles Heizer, Todrick Hall and Lizzo will be guest judging.

68th Annual Emmy Nominations announced, 10 nominations for “Transparent”

The 68th Primetime Emmy Award nominations were announced the morning of July 14, with Amazon Prime’s show Transparent collecting 10, including “Outstanding Comedy Series” and “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.”

Transparent focuses on Maura Pfefferman’s (played by Jeffery Tambor) journey as an older transgender woman and her relationship with her family and with herself. The series won five Emmy Awards in 2015 out of the 11 it was nominated for.

Screened Out – Ricki and the Flash

Movies and rock songs have a lot in common. They often play on recognizable themes, but they should explore them in new ways. Despite some enjoyable roadhouse rock, Ricki and the Flash doesn’t provide enough variety to its familiar refrains.

Streep portrays another anti-hero (her fifth in a row) – this time a rough-hewn cursing-and-drinking mommy who abandoned hubby Kline and her three kids nearly three decades ago. She moved to LA to become a rock goddess; she didn’t quite make it. Now, broke and working two dead-end jobs, she gets a fateful call from Kline.

Laverne Cox, Tim Cook among TIME magazine’s Most Influential People

Apple CEO Tim Cook, Orange is the New Black‘s Laverne Cox and Empire executive producer Lee Daniels were among the LGBT names selected for TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People, or TIME 100.

TIME magazine first published the now annual list in 1999 as The Most Influential People of the 20th Century. Since then notable members of the LGBT community have been named to the list including Ellen DeGeneres, Glee‘s Chris Colfer and Neil Patrick Harris.
