Please join the GLBT Center of Central Florida and the Harvey Milk Foundation as they present the “Orlando 2017 Diversity Honors”

These awards are presented to recognize those who have gone above and beyond in the pursuit of LGBTQ equality. This years honor recipients include:

Lifetime Acheivement Award – Lt. Jim Young – Orlando Police Department and Orlando PD LGBT Liaison

LGBT Ally Award – Orange County Florida Mayor Teresa Jacobs

LGBT Ally Award – The Orlando City Soccer Club

Champion of Equality Award – Barbara Poma, Owner, Pulse Nightclub

This gala will be held at the Orchid Garden on Friday, May 12 from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm and will consist of a cocktail reception, four course sit down dinner, silent auction and awards presentation.

Special guest Stuart Milk, Harvey Milk’s nephew will make a special appearance and speak to the crowd in attendance. Photo opportunities with Mr. Milk will be available.

 

St. Pete Pride’s Red & Green Party brings snow to Sunken Gardens

St. Pete Pride’s annual Red & Green Party brought festive cheer, glittery beards and snow to the Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg Dec. 5.

The more than 400 guests dined on exquisite food and enjoyed the open bars as two snow machines turned the 100 year old botanical garden into a winter wonderland.

Bruce Jenner’s 1984 Olympic Torch going on auction block

NEW YORK (AP) – The 1984 Summer Olympic Torch that Bruce Jenner carried through Lake Tahoe, Nevada, is going on the auction block where it could fetch $20,000 or more.

It’s the first major piece of Jenner memorabilia to go to auction since the winner of the 1976 Olympic Decathlon Gold Medal became Caitlyn Jenner.

Andy Warhol collection up for auction at Christie’s for Pride month

Christie’s auction house is celebrating Pride month with collection of Andy Warhol’s more gay-oriented items for sale.

The collection, entitled “Andy’s Randy Summer,” includes more than 100 photos, prints and drawings obtained directly from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. Some of the pieces have never been shown to the public until now.
