FIFA charges Mexico after fans chant anti-gay slur

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (AP) — FIFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Mexico after its fans used an anti-gay slur during the team’s 1-0 win over Germany.

Some Mexican supporters chanted the slur when Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer prepared to take a goal kick in the 24th minute of Sunday’s game at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

French soccer commentator suspended for anti-gay comments

PARIS (AP) — A French TV soccer commentator was suspended Friday for anti-gay comments directed at RB Leipzig players following their loss to Marseille in the Europa League quarterfinals.

Denis Balbir, who commented on the match for the W9 channel on Thursday, mocked the Leipzig players’ 5-2 loss at the Stade Velodrome in a video that emerged after the match.

Gay Couple: Hateful note left on door after Trump’s election

Clarksburg residents Kyle Chester and Corey Hurley tell the Charleston Gazette-Mail that they discovered the note after receiving a knock on their door early Nov.10.

Browns linebacker apologizes for homophobic tweet

Browns linebacker Tank Carder has issued an apology after he used an anti-gay slur on Twitter.

It started on Nov. 21 when Carder, a rookie who has played in 10 games this season, came across a comment he didn’t like on Twitter and responded to the comment by writing, “youre a faggot for that.”
