Andy Cohen will join Anderson Cooper as co-host of CNN’s New Year’s Eve special. He replaces Kathy Griffin who was fired following her controversial Trump severed head photo shoot.

“Andy is the life of the party wherever he goes, and what bigger party is there than New Year’s Eve?” Cooper said in a statement. “It’s going to be a blast.”

Kathy Griffin spills ‘scandalous gay tea’ on ex-friend Anderson Cooper

Kathy Griffin made her stand-up comedy comeback at the Best in Drag fundraiser in Los Angeles over the weekend where she wore a Donald Trump mask, blasted Harvey Weinstein and spilled “gay tea” on Anderson Cooper.

“I’m going to spill the f*cking tea,” Griffin says in her first stand-up routine since the Trump photoshoot controversy. “I was part of an international scandal, under federal investigation for two months, my sister died, my dog died, and my mother turned on me. My mother took Sean Hannity’s side. She was a little drunk. She goes, ‘Kathleen, I was watching my Fox News and do you know not one of those guys took your side. Not once.’ I said, ‘Yes.’ I got letters from them saying they wanted to shoot me in my cu*t.”

This past summer, Cohen rebooted the ‘80s classic show Love Connection, which he also hosted, and hosts his own SiriusXM radio show called Radio Andy. Kathy Griffin says she’s no longer friends with Anderson Cooper

Kathy Griffin has suffered another casualty from her infamous photo shoot where she held a replica of President Donald Trump’s severed bloody head, her friendship with Anderson Cooper.

Griffin revealed in an interview with The Cut that she and the CNN anchor are no longer friends. Shortly after the scandal broke, Cooper made it clear he did not agree with Griffin’s sense of humor tweeting, “For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.”

Kathy Griffin fired from CNN after gory Trump photo shoot

Kathy Griffin has been fired from CNN for participating in a photo shoot which showed her holding up a fake, decapitated and bloody Donald Trump head. The photos have caused criticism from both the left and right.

In a behind-the-scenes video, Griffin is shown posing with the severed head for photographer Tyler Shields. She jokes that she and Shields will have to run away to Mexico when the images go public and says, “I won’t give away what we’re doing but Tyler and I are not afraid to do images that make noise.”

Tampa Bay Times, ‘Love Is Love’ comic among GLAAD Media Award nominees

LOS ANGELES (AP) – GLAAD announced the 2017 Media Award nominees Jan. 31, and the list includes local and national projects done in the aftermath of the Pulse shooting.

“Worthy of Survival,” Kathleen McGrory’s Tampa Bay Times story on survivor Angel Santiago and Love Is Love, the IDW Publishing and DC Comics’ graphic novel tribute to the 49 victims, were among the nominees.
