Comedian Sarah Silverman has turned over a new leaf in her comedy.

TMZ caught Silverman out in Los Angeles and asked if she was “done” saying things that “could be perceived as homophobic.”

Nick Cannon sees irony in the way Oscars handled Kevin Hart

NEW YORK (AP) | Nick Cannon isn’t just defending his friend and fellow comedian Kevin Hart over the Oscars hosting controversy. He’s also going after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences itself.

Cannon was one of many cheering the decision to appoint Hart as host of the Feb. 24 telecast but then with dismay watched as his friend voluntarily stepped down following an outcry over past homophobic tweets. Hart contended he’d already addressed those tweets and they no longer represented his views.

FUNNY LADY

Actor and comedian Amy Schumer seems to have a love/hate relationship with the city of Tampa. She wrote about the city in her recently released book, The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo, where she called Tampa “horrendous” and wrote that she wasn’t scared about criticizing the people of Tampa Bay because, “I know for a fact that no one who lives there has ever read a book. JKJKJKJKJK, but kind of not K.”

Schumer came to Tampa Oct. 16 where she held a concert at the Amalie Arena for the first time since her book came out. During the show Schumer took her act political and brought a Trump supporter on stage to ask him why he supported Trump. “ I’m not voting for Trump, I’m voting against Hillary,” the Tampa man said.

Bud Light released its newest ad in the ongoing commercial series, “The Bud Light Party,” starring Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen, and in the ad they take on labels.

“We are going to bring America together,” the two comedians say in the commercial. “A party for everyone: men, women, people of all genders.”

Screened Out – Trainwreck

Schumer’s first movie lead definitely proves she has a future in acting. However, it doesn’t completely show how great a writer she usually is.

Especially in the first half, there’s some great comedy – the smart, self-deprecating, and profane hilariousness we come to expect from her TV show Inside Amy Schumer (which she also writes). Trainwreck, though, ends up waaaay less edgy than her Comedy Central gig. Underneath all the reckless trappings, this flick, directed by Judd Apatow, is actually a very traditional – and somewhat disappointing – romantic comedy.
