FX orders Ryan Murphy LGBTQ dance musical series ‘Pose’

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The FX channel says it’s ordered a scripted dance musical series starring Evan Peters, Kate Mara and James Van Der Beek.

FX said Wednesday that the series, titled “Pose,” will include what it called an unprecedented number of LGBTQ and transgender actors in ongoing roles.

At the 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards, Lena Waithe became the first black woman to win the award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series.

The Emmy was awarded for an episode of Netflix’s show Master of None. She co-wrote the season two episode titled “Thanksgiving” with show co-creator Aziz Ansari, which chronicled her experience coming out as a lesbian to her family.

Ryan Murphy announced “American Horror Story” season seven will be titled “American Horror Story: Cult” at San Diego Comic Con on Thursday.

Murphy has said the upcoming season will be themed around the 2016 election but President Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton will not be characters.

Lady Gaga to channel Barbra Streisand in ‘A Star is Born’ remake
