“American Horror Story: 1984” released its first full trailer giving an introduction to some of the main characters in the ’80s slasher flick-themed season.

The trailer shows Cody Fern portraying an aerobics instructor who convinces his friends (Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd) to become camp counselors at Camp Redwood. When they arrive, Mr. Jingles, a murderer, has just escaped from a nearby asylum.

‘Pose’ star Angelica Ross joins ‘American Horror Story’

“Pose” star Angelica Ross is headed to another Ryan Murphy project, “American Horror Story: 1984.”

The actress who portrays Candy on “Pose” made the announcement on Instagram following her character’s departure on the show. Ross’ casting is a milestone as it makes her the first transgender actress to land two series regular roles.

‘American Horror Story’ season nine title revealed

Ryan Murphy unveiled that the ninth season of “American Horror Story” will be titled “1984” in an Instagram post April 10.

Murphy posted a teaser video that shows a woman being chased by a killer through the woods in what appears to be a homage to 1980s slasher films. The woman runs into a cabin and leans against the door to hide but the killer strikes the cabin door with his knife.

Ryan Murphy can add one more item to his long list of accomplishments. The award-winning showrunner will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Murphy has become a trailblazer in television as the showrunner of “Glee,” Nip/Tuck,” “American Horror Story,” “American Crime Story, “Pose” and “9-1-1.”

“Pose” on the FX channel recently completed its inaugural season run and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Every week we were treated to the largest cast of transgender women ever assembled in one show, strutting across our screens with their improvised catwalks, to the beat of glorious 80s music.

We dove into the lives of their characters and saw their struggles with poverty, family, the men who fetishize them, sex work and living with HIV. We felt their hurt at yet another rejection and relished their triumphs in the face of adversity. In a way not too often seen on television, we were centered in the story and humanized.

The 70th Primetime Emmy Award nominations were announced July 12.

After 18 years of leading the pack with the most nominations, HBO —which received 108 — was unseated by Netflix with its 112 nominations. Among those 112 nominations include one for the “Queer Eye” reboot for Best Structured Reality Program, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s” Tituss Burgess for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and “Grace and Frankie’s” Lily Tomlin for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

FX orders Ryan Murphy LGBTQ dance musical series ‘Pose’

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The FX channel says it’s ordered a scripted dance musical series starring Evan Peters, Kate Mara and James Van Der Beek.

FX said Wednesday that the series, titled “Pose,” will include what it called an unprecedented number of LGBTQ and transgender actors in ongoing roles.

At the 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards, Lena Waithe became the first black woman to win the award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series.

The Emmy was awarded for an episode of Netflix’s show Master of None. She co-wrote the season two episode titled “Thanksgiving” with show co-creator Aziz Ansari, which chronicled her experience coming out as a lesbian to her family.
