The Halifax Art Festival presents a unique blend of fine arts, fine crafts, music, food and fun for everyone.  It’s free to the public with plenty of free parking.  The Festival brings over 250 juried local, regional, and national artists to Daytona’s downtown Beach Street between the Riverfront Shops and the Halifax River.  It offers affordable art for the established as well as the beginning collector.  Offering live entertainment both days, a student art exhibit, and hands-on children’s art activities.  Presented by the Guild of the Museum of Arts & Sciences to benefit the Museum of Arts & Sciences, it’s Charles and Linda Williams Children’s Museum and the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art.

250,000 gay and lesbian couples married in U.S. in the first decade of marriage equality

More than 250,000 LGBT couples have married in America in the first 10 years of marriage equality, meaning more than half a million married Americans are in gay or lesbian marriages.

The U.S. Census Bureau originally reported in 2012 there were 182,000 same-sex married couples in America, but after conducting the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2013 American Community Survey that number was found to be 252,000.
