Eyes on Oprah chance
Orlando resident Randy Ross is trying to bring his Oprah Winfrey dreams to life. Winfrey’s contest, “Oprah’s search for the next TV star” invites people to submit videos online that are actually auditions for hosting their own show.
“I’ve watched her for as long as I can remember and I think she does a lot to make a difference,” said Ross.
His show pitch has a kids’ fitness angle. He said he tried to make it happen in the early 90s but found people weren’t ready for it.
“Now is a good time,” he said.
The video has been submitted and is posted online, where visitors can vote. Essentially, they’re casting a reality show to determine who gets to be a TV host.
“Now, I’m just trying to drive people to click on that and vote,” he said.
