Dash receives Aquatics International Award
A groundbreaking local instructor has been named one of the aquatic industry’s “Power 25” for 2010 by trade publication Aquatics International.
According to the lesbian networking site ProSuzy.com, M. Ellen (Melon) Dash developed a revolutionary way to teach swimming to adults and children who are afraid of water in 1983. She is the owner of Miracle Swimming Institute in Sarasota, and is the author of Conquer Your Fear of Water.
Dash has taught nearly 4,000 students to save their lives in deep water, which she asserts is the basic principle of knowing how to swim. Dash has also taught dozens of instructors from around the globe how to succeed with students who fear water.
“The end of drowning is possible,” she has said.
