Conor McGregor caught on camera using homophobic slur at UFC event

UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor was caught on camera using a homophobic slur at UFC Fight Night 118, Forbes reports.

The fight, which was between Artem Lobov and Andre Fili, took place in Gdansk, Poland. McGregor, who is teammates and close friends with Lovob, spent the match screaming words of encouragement to Lovob. His antics caused the referee to ask him to stop towards the end of the fight.

“What’s got into you, man?” the referee addressed McGregor from inside the cage. “C’mon. Sit down, please. Be a professional.”

Lobov was defeated by Fili and backstage after the match McGregor was caught on camera addressing Fili as a “fa*got.”

“I thought you were going to sleep him,” McGregor tells Lobov. “All I’m saying, he’s a fa*got. I never knew he was a fa*got.”

McGregor has been pro-same-sex marriage in the past even making a Twitter post urging people to vote for equality in his home country of Ireland.
