Parliament House helps support Libby’s Legacy with Pink benefit

ORLANDO | Parliament House makes “Pink the New Black” as they present Pink, a Benefit for Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation, on Oct. 7.

“It’s going to be all pink,” says Parliament House’s Marla Harris. ” Everyone is going to be wearing pink and Parliament House will be decorated all in pink, and then we will have our signature pink drinks.”

Along with pink champagne and “The Pink Drink” (a blend of Stoli Raspberry Vodka, cranberry juice and Sprite), the evening will also feature a silent auction, live auctions and raffle prizes. The funds raised from all of these, and a portion of the door, will go to Libby’s Legacy.

Libby’s Legacy was founded in 2007 by Robin Maynard-Harris in honor of her mother, Libby. Libby’s mission is to provide comprehensive breast health services to the underinsured and uninsured Central Florida community through education, mammograms, follow up diagnostics and Hope Coaches.

Libby’s Legacy also helps to grant wishes to Stage IV breast cancer patients through their LIVE BIG program.

Manyard-Harris will speak at the event that will also feature a fashion show, Pink! Hot Spots and entertainment from Saphyre L’Sweet Productions, Parliament House’s Footlight Players, music by DJ Brianna and a show from comedian Cheril Vendetti. Tickets are required for Vendetti’s uncensored comedy show and can be purchased at PHouse.Ticketleap.com/Cheril.

“Everybody has been affected by breast cancer one way or another. We all know someone —a mom, a sister, a wife —who has had to fight this disease,” Harris says. “Plus Libby’s Legacy is a local charity so you know that any donations you make go back to assist those affected in your community.”
