Tampa Bay Rays’ Pride Night becomes Pulse Orlando fundraiser

The Tampa Bay Rays will dedicate their annual Pride Night June 17 to the victims of the mass shooting that occurred at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

Rafaela A. Amador, Senior Director of Public Affairs for the Tampa Bay Rays, says that starting immediately all remaining seats for Friday’s game, played against the San Francisco Giants, will be $5.

“We are going to be moving forward with [Pride Night] in a bigger way,” Amador says. “All proceeds from the game will go to the Pulse Victims Fund. We are also producing a shirt that says ‘We Are Orlando’ and it has our pride burst on it. We are handing those out to every fan that comes so they can wear them during the game and show unity. We want to fill the stadium with people who support the LGBT community and share the idea of having peace everywhere.”
