Ryan Murphy brings epic Joan Crawford/Bette Davis ‘Feud’ to FX

Ryan Murphy, the mind behind such guilty pleasure shows as Glee and Scream Queens, announced a new series coming to the FX channel in 2017, Feud.

Feud will follow in the tradition of Murphy’s other FX shows, American Horror Story and American Crime Story, as an anthology series with each season featuring a set of different characters and stories.

Each season of Feud will follow famous “bouts and blows of epic conflicts,” Murphy said in a press release. The first season follows the rivalry between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis during the filming of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?

Crawford and Davis will be played by Oscar winning actress’ Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon, respectively.

Season one will be eight episodes long and will also feature Alfred Molina, Judy Davis and Stanley Tucci.

Brad Pitt will join Murphy as executive producer of the series. Pitt and Murphy last worked together as producers on HBO’s The Normal Heart.
