TAMPA BAY

Balance Tampa Bay – Bowling at Ten Pins Lane
Saturday, April 30, 1:00- 4:00pm
Ten Pin Lanes, South Pasadena
There’s only one activity that brings on the joy and zen that a Saturday afternoon deserves, bowling man. Balance Tampa Bay is taking the April Activity to Ten Pin Lanes for a few games, and a few white Russians maybe? Special price for you Balanced individuals with $3.50 per person per game. Shoes included in the price, so come out, lace up and let’s see if you can get a strike dude. Afterwards, join your bowling buddies at Quench for a few drinks to wind down.

4th Annual Half-O-Ween

We are half way to Halloween y’all and there is no better way to celebrate than to scare up a costume and head to Quench Lounge for their annual Half-O-Ween party (I mean, you’re already gonna be there after an afternoon of bowling, right?). Come for the spookified celebration and stay for the Memphis-style BBQ, costume contest and the fiercest show starring Jaeda Fuentes, Eden Deck and Kori Stevens. Spend the night with some ghouls, if you dare!

LGBT in the Park Night – SPAMALOT

After your busy Saturday and awe inspiring Friday night (we know you had yourself a little Lemonade with Queen Bey), finish your weekend with a night of theater. American Stage is having an official LGBT night for Monty Python’s SPAMALOT. Come on out to the park for an evening of community and sophisticated British humor featuring drag queens and club kids. General admission is $16.

The Gallery at Avalon Island
Page 15 is the local non-profit that encourages kids to learn through reading and writing. Join them April 29 at 6 p.m. at the Gallery at Avalon Island for the release of their fourth annual “anthology of teen writing” In Honor of Things. Take a seat – and a deep breath – as the authors read some of their works. The book will be available for purchase. The series is a collaborative project with Burrow Press. Illustration and cover design by Allen Hiu.

Footlight Theatre at Parliament House
Just two short nights remain to experience the magic of Zanna and the drama of Heartsville High. Come down to the Footlight Theater at Parliament House April 29 or 30 at 7:30 for a world where (almost) everyone is gay, the chess champion is the star player, and the captain of the football team seeks cool points by being cast in the school musical. Tim Evanicki directs Keith Wilson’s choreography in this musical adventure that will have you leaving the theater singing to the tune of the closer. Tickets are $20.

A Barber Fund Benefit with David Lee & Friends

Okay, Monday isn’t TECHNICALLY the weekend but maybe you stretch out your fun time long enough to see David Lee, along with friends Rebecca Fisher, Eddie Cooper, Janine Klein, Tanner Kaiser, Tom O’Hearn and Sam Singhaus for an intimate cabaret evening as they journey through Hedwig’s “Wicked Little Town.” Special guest Nate Taters from the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center will join the group on stage at The Abbey. The evening will feature select songs from Hedwig to benefit The Barber Fund, which assists those who are battling cancer. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.
