Grammy-award winning and openly gay singer Sam Smith is sharing his new ink, a tattoo that celebrates marriage equality, with his six million followers.

Smith posted pictures of the new tattoos – four in total – on Instagram Dec. 8. One, on his left ring finger, is the equal sign used as a symbol for equality during the fight for same-sex marriage.

“First one – the equality sign on my wedding finger. This ones pretty self explanatory. It shows my views on gay marriage and equality for all,” Smith wrote in the photo’s caption.

The other three are the words “honesty” and “alone” on each of his biceps and the inverted equal sign on his other ring finger which is a replica of the oldest tattoo found on a mummified body.

Smith, who recently recorded the latest James Bond theme song for Spectre, announced he is taking a brief hiatus from music to look for a boyfriend.
