The Pastor Protection Act, filed in August by Republican Rep. Scott Plakon to make it illegal to sue churches that refuse to perform same-sex weddings,  goes for a vote before the House Civil Justice subcommittee Oct. 7.

HB43 is unnecessary, because pastors can’t be forced to perform same-sex marriages anyway.

Watch this space for updates on the vote, and the legislation, as they become available.

If any state were to pass such a law would they not be in direct, blatant violation of the 1st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution?
