ASAP announces 12th annual AIDS Walk in St. Pete

St. Petersburg – Empath Health’s AIDS Service Association of Pinellas (ASAP) announced its 12th annual AIDS Walk for Dec. 12. The event will be at Vinoy Park in Downtown St. Petersburg.

“Walkers, runners, donors and volunteers who come out to show their support will help to provide much needed resources to ASAP,” Empath Health said in a press release.

For the first time this year, a fun run is being added to the beginning of the event. Participants can join the walk or run as an individual or part of a team.

There are two ways people can donate to ASAP for the AIDS Walk. If you know someone who is walking or running you can donate on their behalf. Each donation done this way contributes to the individual person’s fundraising goal.

Another way is to donate directly to the Tampa Bay AIDS Walk general fund. ASAP’s goal this year is $160,000.

ASAP is a nonprofit provider of medical case management, counseling and pharmacy services to Tampa Bay area residents with HIV.
