Parliament House transformed the Footlight Theatre into a fantastic red-and-black VIP lounge for the official GayDayS Kickoff Party June 3.
Hosted by the hilarious Nova Starr and Anastasia Dupree, the show featured lip sync, dance and comedy in a high-energy, laugh-filled party that was a perfect way to get things started for Gay Days 2014.
Celebrity sightings included ChiChi LaRue and Coco Montrese, who was there “incog-Negro,” as pointed out by Nova Starr. We were able to convince Coco to pose with the last issue of Watermark, which features her face on the cover! Watermark WAVE Award winner Darcel Stevens also made an on-stage appearance, complete with a twirl of her sparkly rainbow skirt.
The night included an open bar for VIPs, stuffed gift bags, a buffet and it was finished off by an underwear fashion show (with loads of giveaways and an audience contest) by GayDayS sponsor Under Gear.
If this was just the opening night, we can’t wait to see what the rest of the weekend has in store!
