2014 Gay Games announces headliners

Cleveland -The 2014 Gay Games announced the entertainers who will headline the Opening Ceremony on August 9, which include Lance Bass, Andrea McArdle and the Pointe Sisters.

The Opening Ceremony is in Cleveland at the Quicken Loans Arena, where it will feature a cast of more than 400 performers and a Parade of Athletes who are participating in the 2014 Gay Games.

Lance Bass

Bass, best known for being a member of ‘N Sync, is a well-known gay rights advocate for the LGBT community. He also was the winner of the Humans Rights Campaign Visibility Role award.

Andrea McArdle
Andrea McArdle

McArdle was the original “Annie” for the Broadway show. McArdle will perform music that celebrates music from Broadway, assisted by the Gay Games Chorus.

Pointers Sisters
Pointers Sisters

The Pointer Sisters, an American R&B group— originally comprised of Anita, Ruth, Sadako and Issa Pointer, along with former members Bonnie and June Pointe—will close the show with their performance. Ruth, Anita and Sadako are the only current members performing at the Opening Ceremony.

The Gay Games are open to any participants, regardless of sexual orientation or preference, with more than 35 sporting events and two major cultural events.
