Chevrolet has two new ads for its campaign “#TheNew,” and one of them features an LGBT family. Both commercials are planned to air during the 2014 Winter Olympic Games Opening Ceremony broadcast.

On Feb. 7 at noon Eastern Time, Chevrolet the ads on YouTube. The 30-second ad titled “The New Us” for the new Chevy Traverse features different families together, enjoying each other’s company and love, while the voiceover in the add states “… and while what it means to be a family hasn’t changed, what a family looks like has.”
General Motors, which has earned perfect scores on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, has been known to be a long-time supporter of the LGBT community and rights.
Chevrolet may not be coming straight out (no pun intended) and saying it, but there seems to be a message for Russia about its anti-gay laws and backwards views of the LGBT community.
