Orlando – Come Jan 4, Orlando residents will once again get a chance to listen to The Qiew, the popular LGBT-centered show on AM 810. The weekend show will resume broadcasting each Saturday at 1 p.m. with hosts Randy Stephens and Paul Karle.

The show’s first guest will be Frank Schaefer, a United Methodist pastor who was defrocked after officiating his son’s wedding to his male partner. Schaefer made national headlines when he lost his position and was invited by a California Methodist bishop to serve in her region, indicating another sign of a split in the nation’s largest mainline Protestant denomination.

According to the Associated Press, Carcano does not have the authority to restore Schaefer’s ministerial credentials but she said he would have most of the same rights and responsibilities as an ordained minister. Schaefer said it would not be a tenured appointment, unlike ordained ministers, and he would be paid less.

Schaefer has four children, three of whom are gay, and will discuss is future plans in the church during the show on Jan. 4. The Qiew is also broadcast online at 810CBSSportsRadio.com.
