Orlando Lawyer Barry L. Miller establishes arts foundation

Orlando Lawyer Barry L. Miller has established a foundation to promote arts education, according to Mark Brewer, President/CEO of the Community Foundation of Central Florida.

The Barry L. Miller Foundation for Arts and Education will identify grant opportunities, provide financial support for scholarships and quality programming to individuals, artists, students, educational institutions, community groups, theatre companies and other artistic endeavors.

“Mr. Miller’s philanthropy in our community will provide important capital to the arts sector,” Brewer said. “We are honored to work with him in his quest to make arts and education more sustainable.”

Miller, a 30-year real estate attorney and president of The Closing Agent, Inc. title company has been involved in the arts for many years. Locally, he helped put the Orlando Fringe Festival on the road to recovery after a financial crisis in 2004. Miller was executive producer of the Grammy Nominated “How to Succeed in Business” cast Album starring Daniel Radcliffe. He is on the board of the Orlando Shakespeare Theater. Miller will provide advice for the grants.

The Community Foundation of Central Florida is a public grant making foundation that serves as a philanthropic home for nearly 400 charitable funds established by generous individuals, families and corporations.
