It’s official – the Obama admininistration will officially support marriage equality by urging the Supreme Court to allow same-sex marriage to return to California.
Accofrding to NBC News, the administration will file a friend-to-the-court brief today in the Prop 8 case. Today is the last day to file briefs in support of marriage equality.
The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in March that will decide the fate of Proposition 8, California’s ban on gay marriage approved by voters in 2008. It put on hold the marriages of more than 18,000 gay couples that had been married in California while it was legal.
