Broward County Schools Stand for Equality
For the second year, Broward County schools have voted to support the National Day of Silence observed on April 16, 2010. It’s a national student-led action that takes place every year in protest of the epidemic of bullying and harassment against LGBT students.

Gay adoption bill stalls
Florida’s senate finally allowed debate over the state’s ban on adoption by homosexuals on March 16, but the bill was stalled. Sen. Charlie Justice and Rep. Scott Randolph introduced legislation that would have prevented adoption agencies from asking potential parents about sexual orientation. The bill was tacked onto one address gun ownership and gay adoption and when the Speaker ruled it irrelevant, both legislators withdrew the legislation.
