Rumors about Florida governor Charlie Crist’s sexuality are hardly new, but Kirby Dick’s documentary Outrage slapped the salacious circumstantial evidence all over the silver screen. The film was screened in Orlando and in Tampa this year.

When Window Media declared bankruptcy in November it looked like curtains for its publications, including 411 magazine and the South Florida Blade. A new owner gave the publications new life, and they live on as Mark’s List Magazine and South Florida Agenda.

The Florida Bar won its right to oppose the state’s ban on adoption by same sex couples, while Martin Gill waits to hear whether he’ll be able to adopt the two foster sons he has raised. In the meantime, out of state gay couples who adopt were ruled legit in Florida.

Susan Stanton gets Lake Worth job
Transgender City Manager Susan Stanton secured a job in Lake Worth in April nearly two years after she was fired in Largo when she announced plans for gender reassignment surgery. Stanton applied for more than 200 positions around the country before landing the position last spring.

JMH lawsuit dismissed
A judge dismissed a lawsuit by Janice Langbehn, a lesbian not permitted to visit her partner as she lay dying in Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2008. A few months later, a nurses group apologized to the widow but still maintained that the hospital was just following its guidelines and homophobia was not a factor.
