The Metropolitan Business Association (MBA) is already making plans for next year’s Come Out With Pride. Slated for Oct. 10, 2010, the event’s theme will be 10-10-10: A Pride of Olympic Proportions. According to the MBA, that theme combines a salute to the accomplishments of LGBT athletes with the gods and goddesses of ancient Greek culture.
“We are very excited about this concept, and already have preliminary plans to make this a very exciting and fun Come Out With PRIDE weekend,” said David Baker-Hargrove, senior executive producer for Come Out With PRIDE. “It is our hope that the community will be as excited about and enjoy the sports-themed event as much as they did the Heroes event of this year.”
Baker-Hargrove said all of the current committee members will return to help plan next year’s event, but they will be revisiting the way COWP is organized, specifically by creating two teams of leaders, one focused on the MBA and one focused on the pride event.
